"They will spring up like grass in a meadow,
like poplar trees by flowing streams."
-Isaiah 44:4

Our programs
Sunflowers - Infants
The infant environment at PCLA is thoughtfully designed to foster safe, engaging, and stimulating exploration. Infants are surrounded by a variety of textures and colors that encourage sensory discovery. The walls display bright, inviting pictures of familiar objects and people that capture the children’s interest, with displays rotated regularly to maintain curiosity. Developmentally appropriate toys are also rotated to offer new challenges and learning experiences. Teachers actively engage with infants at their level, sitting on the floor to nurture connection, encourage play, and support early development through meaningful interactions.
Little Sprouts - 1 year olds
At PCLA, our environment for very young children is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and joy every day. From the moment our tiny Poplar Pals arrive, they’re surrounded by a world of color, texture, and discovery. Cozy spaces, soft materials, and cheerful décor invite children to explore safely and confidently.
Engaging photos of familiar faces, favorite toys, and everyday objects fill the walls—rotated often to keep things fresh and exciting. Our teachers join children on the floor, playing, laughing, and learning alongside them to build meaningful bonds and encourage growth through play.
Each day, as weather allows, children enjoy outdoor adventures where they can move, explore, and connect with nature. Both our indoor and outdoor spaces offer endless opportunities for hands-on learning, imagination, and fun—helping every child at PCLA feel happy, loved, and ready to explore the world around them.

Rosebuds - 2 year olds and 3 year olds
At PCLA, we understand that two- and three-year-olds are eager to explore their growing sense of independence. In our Rosebuds classroom, teachers provide the perfect balance of freedom and gentle guidance always nearby to lend a helping hand when needed. Children are encouraged to make choices from a variety of engaging, age-appropriate activities that keep them happy, curious, and busy throughout the day.
Our teachers nurture independence by allowing children to try new things for themselves, stepping in only when support is needed. A key focus during this stage is helping our young learners express themselves and communicate with confidence. Teachers model and encourage language by putting words to feelings, actions, and needs while helping children build their vocabulary and learn to share their thoughts.
Through warm, responsive, and respectful relationships, our Rosebuds develop the confidence, communication skills, and sense of self needed to reach important developmental milestones ,all while feeling loved, supported, and understood.
